Every one of us can make a difference and create memories that will motivate others. Think of something you can do to make others feel special, a memory that will make them come back or feel good about themselves. I would like to share this story of an individual who is making a difference.
There is a nineteen-year-old bagger named Johnny, who has Down Syndrome. Johnny wanted to do something special for the customers. Every night after work, he would find a thought for the day. If he couldn’t find a saying he liked, Johnny would make one up. When Johnny had a good thought for the day his Dad helped him set it up on the computer and print multiple copies. Johnny cutout each quotes and signed his name on the back.
When Johnny finished bagging someone’s groceries, he would put his thought for the day in their bag and say, “Thanks for shopping with us.” Most people would say his job is not important, but he made it important by creating precious memories for all his customers.
Johnny’s checkout line was three times longer than anyone else’s! The manager tried to get people to change lanes, but no one would move. They said, “No, it’s okay-we want to be in Johnny’s lane-we want his “Thought for the Day” One person said “I used to shop once a week, but now I come in every time I go by, because I want to get Johnny’s “Thought for the Day”. Johnny transformed the store all because he wanted to do something special, he wanted to make a difference…and he did.
Many have made a difference on the message boards and Pal Talk by showing their concern for one another, supporting those in need in thoughts and prayers, providing worth while information, extending their friendship, posting appreciation, conveying encouraging words, and most of all showing respect for others. The CMKX Family of Stockholders is special because they want to make a difference…and they are making a difference, a tremendous difference.
Thank you each and every one of you for the memories. You made a difference because each and every one is special.
Thank you for reading my thought for today.
All the best in wealth and health,
